A 1-day workshop Introduction to Analogue Photography
Analogue photography is a process of slowing down. The medium invites you to be patient, as you can’t see the direct result. If you bring the exposed film to a film lab it often takes more than a week before you receive the scanned pictures in you mail box. On the other hand, the film rolls have a limitation of 10, 12 or 36 photo’s (depending on the camera/ film you are using) and invite you to really think before you take the click.
Becoming a professional analogue photographer myself grew along with becoming more mindful in the every day life. It can be quite the valuable mindfulness practise. For example, before every shoot I try to take the time to drink a cup of tea together with the person I am shooting with to really meet each other. But also during the process there is a certain intimacy because of the time and silence in-between shots. Therefore the proces of analogue photography can help you be more connected to your subject and yourself.
Under my guidance you will learn about the basic elements of photography, the different film rolls and styles, and the impact of analogue photography, so you’ll be able to start your own journey within this beautiful visual language.
